Record-breaking China’s Pharmaceutical Innovations Present at the AACR Annual Meeting

HANGZHOU, China- April 10, 2024 - The 115^th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) concluded successfully in San Diego, USA. The AACR annual meeting is one of the world largest conferences in cancer research. The theme of this AACR annual meeting was "Inspiring Science, Fueling Progress, Revolutionizing Care". The conference brought together over 22,500 professionals all over the world and received a record number of poster abstracts, more than 7,200, which shared the latest advances in cancer and related biomedical sciences. The AACR annual meeting advocates gather to share the latest advances in cancer and related biomedical sciences to accelerate progress in cancer prevention and treatment by research, education, communication, and collaboration.

Sixty-five bio-tech companies from China participated and presented a record-breaking number of poster abstracts in this AACR annual meeting, with an increase of 200 from 2023 to 700 poster abstracts in 2024. These companies presented their latest innovations in ADCs, and small molecules drugs targeted promising targets in cancer therapy. They fast-follow drug development of the majority of promising targets and the development progress oftheir small molecules drugs and anti-body drugs is very closed to that of first-in-class drugs. Impressively, in ADCs area, bio-tech companies from China become the leading player.

In addition to academic communication and innovations presentation, MNCs and these bio-tech companies engaged in deeply discussion on some promise projects during this meeting. With the increasing innovation capability and progress in internationalization of bio-tech companies in China, more and more innovative achievements are being presented at international professional academic meetings. On March 5^th of this year, the research progress of Adamgammadex (Aom0498), developed by Aomo Pharma Inc. (the US branch of Adamerck), was also presented at the 18th World Congress of Anesthesiologists conference and garnered attention from MNCs around the world.It is expected that more cooperation between MNCs and innovative counterparts in China will be achieved in 2024.
